MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Marquette Senior High School FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics team is getting ready for another year of competition. They're are called team Cold Logic.

To help prepare for the upcoming year, the team is hosting a robotics conference Saturday, November 10th at the school from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The conference is free and open for the public to attend and will feature robotics related workshops.

Each year, the team designs and builds a robot to compete in two regional robotics events. This year's competition theme is 'space', although the team does not yet know the specific task their robot will need to perform. The cost of entry into each event is $5,000.

Cold Logic team member Sarah Bryers says robotics has taught her teamwork.

“Everyone's really cooperative,” says Sarah, Team Cold Logic Media Captain. “If you need help you can ask and they'll come help you. We're all like a big family. We are really close and everyone is really helpful and we like to go out and help the community.”

Cold Logic is currently looking for volunteer mentors. To find out how you can get involved and how to donate, visit their website http://coldlogic3617.org/.
