IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - Marc Gauthier was sentenced to 9-25 years in prison with a 487 day credit for counts 1-5 of using a computer to commit a crime. He was sentenced to 6-15 years for possession of child sexually abusive material. The sentences are concurrent.
A former Iron Mountain man that is already in prison on unrelated charges has pleaded guilty to 10 felony child pornography charges.
According to Dickinson County Circuit Court, 52-year-old Marc Gauthier pleaded guilty to five counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime, a felony punishable by 7 years and/or $5,000; and five counts of Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material, a felony punishable by 4 years and/or $10,000.
He also pleaded guilty to Habitual Offender–Fourth Offense notice.
Gauthier’s charges stem from an incident that occurred in September of 2016 at an Iron Mountain motel.
Gauthier is already in the custody of the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) for unrelated previous 2016 convictions, IMPD says.
Gauthier is scheduled to be sentenced on September 23, 2019.
