ONTONAGON, Mich. (WLUC) - The MASTERS Racing Circuit has been around for more than 30 years. But on Saturday, they decided to do something different.
Earlier Saturday afternoon, they hosted their first Terra-X snowmobile race in Ontonagon.
The race is a combination of a snow cross and cross country race where drivers go through an obstacle course in order to advance to a class shoot out.
"In the Ontonagon area, we've had a history of doing snowmobile races. It goes back to the early 1990s and we're just keeping it here,” said MASTERS President Skip Shulz.
“We're going to do a new form of racing, but the biggest thing is to bring attention to our area and bring people to our area for snowmobiling."
The MASTERS Racing Circuit plans to host Terra-X again in Greenland, Michigan at Adventure Mountain in March. They then will end it with a big Terra-X race in Duluth, Minnesota.
