MARSP tours old 'Anatomy of a Murder' haunts

ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) - The Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel took a tour of the old 'Anatomy of a Murder' haunts on Tuesday.

The tour was a hit according to organizers, what was expected to be a 30 to 40 person crowed ended up around 70 before they had to turn people away.

Along the way, local historians and business-owners told stories of the times.

Members of the association, also known as MARSP, started off the tour at the Mather Inn in Ishpeming with coffee and snacks, before continuing on to other locations.

"In this beautiful structure is where the cast stayed," says Kathy Houghton, Events Chairperson for MARSP, speaking about the Mather Inn. "So, Jimmy Stewart, Lee Remick, Otto Preminger, Duke Ellington, they all stayed here."

Also on the tour are other buildings like Carnegie Library, and the site of the former Roosevelt Night Club, where the entire cast signed a wall.
