Lost Marquette snowmobiler found; no injuries

SANDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - On Sunday, January 13 at approximately 4:40 am, deputies from the Marquette County Sheriff's office were dispatched to the Sands Plains area of Sands Township to the report of a lost snowmobiler.

Thomas Lofh,60, of Marquette, was riding his snowmobile in the Sands Plains when he became stuck on the trail.

He contacted friends by phone, but they were unable to locate him.

Lohf was eventually able to call 911 and Central Dispatch was then able to get a GPS location from his cell.

Dispatch relayed his position, of one mile West of Powell Lake in Sands Township.

Deputies were able to locate Lohf and his snowmobile.

The snowmobile could not be removed at that time, however Lohf was taken to his residence by deputies.

Lohf needed no medical attention.
