Local, popular mac and cheese chef hosts cooking demonstration

Lots of people love it and know it well, macaroni and cheese. And if you're looking for an easy way to prepare the dish, you're in luck.

One Upper Michigan chef whose mac and cheese recipe has been shared more than four million times hosted her own cooking demonstration this past weekend.

Allison Kirksey posted a mac and cheese recipe to her blog about a year ago. It's now the most pinned mac and cheese recipe on the popular app, Pinterest.

She says it's just simple ingredients like pasta, milk, butter and flour with a lot of cheese, and any toppings you might like to add.

"I make food for people all the time, my family and we have guests all the time and I'm always creating and making recipes so when people come up to me and say, 'oh my gosh, I love your food,' it's a bizarre thing that happened, but I've enjoyed it, immensely," said Kirksey, a home cook, and mac and cheese chef.

Kirksey says she's even added lobster and crab to her mac and cheese.
