HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - A Finnish startup application expands their business to the U.P. ProLocalis is an app designed to empower local producers. It gives consumers a place to find local produce, handcrafted goods and tourism services. The app already launched in Finland. The company hopes to launch the full version in the U.P. in April.
The idea grew on the founders own farm while working with other local producers.
"I came up with the idea that we needed a tool to democrasize the visibility of the producers and offer the consumers a one-stop channel to find what they are looking for in the area. So, the whole thing started actually last summer," said ProLocalis founder and CEO Christos Granqvist.
ProLocalis is seeking investors to build an office in the Upper Peninsula. More information is available at prolocalis.com.
