FENCE, Wis. (WLUC) - It's that time of year where the Green Bay Packers are adding to their Fan Hall of Fame. Amy Nelson of Fence is hoping that it will be her.
Nelson is a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, hoping for the chance to join other supporters in the teams Fan Hall of Fame. Her brother nominated her for the position and she's now in the top ten.
"I don't know that she quite understood at first what it meant, but once we showed her her picture on the website and explained that she would get tickets and be able to buy some things at the Packer Pro Shop, then that got her going,” Amy’s mom, Jane Nelson, said. “She's really got into it since then."
Her family calls her the team's head cheerleader because she never misses a game and is always decked out in her Packer gear.
While she loves the whole team, there is one player she loves a little extra.
"My favorite is number 52,” Amy said. “It's Matthews, Clay Matthews."
Being a part of the Fan Hall of Fame is an opportunity her mother calls once in a lifetime.
"Amy doesn't have a whole lot of opportunities to be the 'star' or the center of attention for anything,” she said. “So that makes this that much more special to her. It might be the only opportunity in her lifetime."
