American Legion Post 61 in Calumet honors a local fallen soldier who has finally come home.

Vietnam veteran Army Staff Sgt. Marshall Kipina went missing in action in Laos in 1966. His remains were recovered this year. His family has chosen to have him buried in Arlington Cemetery. Post 61 in Calumet will honor Kipina and his family during their Memorial Day service Monday.

"It has just been - for the family, for so many people who knew him, his friends - there has always been that question and I think now it is a really nice Memorial Day finally for his family to be able to put him to rest and know that he has been accounted for," said Legion Post 61 commander David Crowley.

The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. Monday at Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet. In case of rain, it will move to the Calumet Colosseum.
