Law Enforcement Torch Run continues in Marquette for Special Olympics

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC)- Runners in Marquette also participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run on Tuesday evening after running in Iron Mountain earlier in the day.

These runs are happening throughout the week and include law enforcement officials and community members coming together to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Michigan athletes.

Carla White coordinated the community runs on Tuesday and says what is great about these events is having the Special Olympic athletes there fundraising their own events.

Coordinators decided to end the Marquette run differently this year.

"We start here at the Superior Dome and we end at the Marquette Area High School's football field where we actually are going to do a unified flag football game with the Special Olympic athletes,” said White.

If you could not make Tuesday night’s event you can still donate here .
