HOBART, Ind. (WLUC) - Kelly Cochran, who's convicted of murder in Iron County, Michigan, now has a pending murder charge in Lake County, Indiana for the death of Jason Cochran.

The 35-year-old was sentenced to life in prison May 11 in Iron County courts on the charge of first degree murder for the death and dismemberment of 53-year-old Christopher Regan of Iron River.

Cochran was found guilty by a jury on five counts including murder, conspiracy to commit dead bodies-disinterment and mutilation, concealing the death of an individual, larceny in a building, and lying to a peace officer.

According to her Indiana court order, an information and probable cause affidavit was filed on August 12, 2016. The statement said, “There is enough probable cause to believe that the crime of murder has been committed and that Kelly Marie Cochran committed it.”

According to Lake County’s Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Cochran has an active warrant out for her arrest. Currently, she is serving time at Huron Valley Prison in Ypsilanti, Mich. Cochran will be transferred to Lake County Jail without bail.

Cochran will be tried on one count of murder. In court records, it said, “…That on or about February 20, 2016, in the Count of Lake, State of Indians, Kelly Marie Cochran did knowingly or intentionally kill Jason Cochran…".

In the Probable Cause Affidavit, Cochran says that she had thought about killing Jason for a long time.
