Representative Beau LaFave declares his re-election bid
State Representative Beau LaFave (R) was at Saturday's Continental Cup and he had an announcement to make.
"I want one more term at this thing. I'm announcing my re-election for State Representative and I'll ask that you'll join me."
LaFave made his official announcement at a reception inside the Popple Palace on the grounds of the Pine Mountain Resort.
Representative LaFave was joined at the ceremony by Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette, Senator Tom Casperson (R) and former State Representative Ed McBroom.
The group attended the opening ceremonies for the competition but then moved to the Popple Palace for the reception and the formal announcement.
Before officially declaring his re-election bid LaFave spoke at length about unemployment insurance issues as well as his desire to see the rights of gun owners protected.
"You know, I always said that I was going to go to Lansing and as soon as I finished all the things I promised I was going to do, I'd be happy. Unfortunately I can't finish car insurance reform this year and I can't fix the dark store loophole and a couple other issues this year."
