LSSU student has new court date for social media-related charges

Lucas Gerhard's next court date is scheduled for September 11.
An Oakland township man may face up twenty years in prison after he made a social media post that was threatening to the Lake Superior State University Community.
According to the LSSU marketing department, 20 year old Lucas Daniel Gerhard posted the message on social media on Saturday and was arrested early Saturday morning.
His first court appearance is scheduled for September 4 in Chippewa County.
Gerhard is charged with making a false report or threat of terrorism.
No other details about the post have been released at this time.
