L’ANSE, Mich. (WLUC) – On Wednesday, L’Anse’s Village Manager, Bob LaFave, announced their community's solar power array is now online.

The town fully commissioned the units several weeks ago. Now, LaFave says more than 90 percent of the panels have been subscribed.

LaFave also notes that people participating in L’Anse’s solar panel program should start seeing credits on their next bill.

"It's giving us an opportunity to first of all utilize some of the green renewable technology in the community, but also it's going to translate into savings on people's bills that chose to participate in the program,” explained LaFave.

If anyone is interested in getting involved in the program or learning about it, LaFave encourages people to stop by their village's office.
