KINGSFORD, Mich. (WLUC) - In Dickinson County, the Kingsford Student Council is using the annual TV6 Canathon to promote healthy competition between classes.
Throughout the years, each class challenges another to see who can donate the most cans.
The school total goal this year, is to pass 4,715 cans or non-perishable items. Even with the snow days, the students think they can exceed that goal and are happy to band together to do so.
“Collecting cans for our community as a school is a cool opportunity for all the kids don't really have this food, and it's a cool competition we can do,” said Nathan Demay, at member of the Kingsford Middle School Student Council.
