MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Kids and seniors got together Thursday to socialize and play some cribbage.
Students at Cherry Creek Elementary met up with the Chocolay Township Seniors to see whose card skills were better.
The Chocolay Township Seniors is a loose organization that encourages older adults to meet twice a month and socialize through card games and luncheons.
Organizers with the seniors felt meeting with the children would help create a sense of mutual respect.
"It makes our citizens feel worthy and helpful, and they love being with children anyways. So, it's just good socializing with the younger generation," said Chocolay Township Senior member Judy White.
And for those that didn't feel like playing cards, some seniors taught students how to knit and crochet.
