ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) - The summer reading program continues at the Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library. Thursday, the focus was on comic books.

Local artist and writer Brad Gischia was on hand to lead a workshop on making comics. He talked about the process of drawing, story-boarding, penciling and inking comics.

Each kid signed up for the workshop also got to take home the tablets, specially designed for comic book making.

"I'm looking for them to get into making something that they would like to read now. It's an industry that's constantly growing and changing and knowing just the very basics is an easy way to get into it," said Gischia.

The summer reading program continues at the Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library through August 3.
