Members of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming joined a national movement today, celebrating the sanctity of life.

Marches for life were held across the country this weekend, and in Ishpeming, they opted to stay inside and hold an open house for their new care clinic. It is the third care clinic in the county, and is run by the same organization that runs the offices in Marquette and K.I. Sawyer.

“We know that services are needed and often transportation is a limiting factor for people to get to Marquette,” said Care Clinic executive director, Cindy Asher.

The clinic offers free pregnancy testing, as well as education sessions for expecting families.
