ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) - The Ishpeming Booster Club held their 12th annual Spaghetti Dinner at the Ishpeming Middle-High School Sunday.
For $8, attendees enjoyed all you can eat spaghetti with meat and vegetarian options, garlic toast, salad, tons of desserts, coffee and comradery. It truly was an all you can eat dinner. 600 servings of spaghetti were prepared for the day.
They also held 50-50 raffles with all proceeds going to Hematite athletics.
Booster Club President, Dannie Wedgworth says it's the biggest fund raiser of the year, netting $3,000 to $4,000 annually.
Members of several Middle and High school boys and girls athletics teams volunteered their time to make the event a success according to Wedgworth.
"They work hard. They do. Not only at their program, being in sports but in the extracurricular activities too. I guess you could call this an extracurricular activity for them. We get good support. Our support in Ishpeming is just fantastic. We wouldn't be here if it weren't for the support of our neighbors,” Wedgworth declared.
The Ishpeming Booster Club helps to fund sports equipment and travel for students that may not otherwise afford to participate in school athletics.
