Ironwood man sentenced for drug charges

GOGEBIC COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - UPDATE 9/12, 3:00 p.m.
Donald Pierre Jett was sentenced to 87 months-30 years in prison for manufacture of methamphetamine.
Pierre also received a habitual offender notice.
These charges stem from an incident earlier this year when investigators found narcotics, methamphetamine, and other drugs at a property in Ironwood.

Jett was sentenced for similar drug charges in 2015.

He began serving his sentence on Thursday, September 12.

52-year-old Donald Pierre Jett pleaded guilty to one count deliver and/or manufacture of methamphetamine, 2nd notice habitual offender.

In exchange for the guilty plea, all other charges against him were dropped by the prosecutor.

His sentencing is scheduled for September 11 at 3:00 p.m.

The Ironwood man arrested by the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team for distributing meth was arraigned Thursday in district court.

52-year-old Donald Pierre Jett is charged with delivery/manufacture of meth, possession (cocaine, heroin, or another narcotic) less than 25 grams, possession of analogues, delivery/possession in a park, and maintaining a drug house. Jett is also a fourth offense habitual offender.

Jett was arrested after officers executed a search warrant in the City of Ironwood. Police say they found Meth, Vicodin, Suboxone sublingual films, and US currency.

The Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team has been investigating the distribution of crystal meth in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Jett had previously been sentenced to prison for similar drug convictions in June 2015. Jett was released from prison and placed on parole in June 2018. The Michigan Department of Corrections has placed a parole hold on Jett.

Jett’s bond is set at $100,000 cash.
