Iron Mountain woman pleads guilty in federal court to distributing drugs

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - An Iron Mountain woman being charged federally for distributing drugs entered a plea Monday.

Kristine Woods, 29, pled guilty to count one, conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute, heroin, a schedule I controlled substance, and crack cocaine, a schedule II controlled substance. The statutory maximum sentence Woods could receive is imprisonment for up to life; supervised release for up to life; a fine of $10,000,000 and a special assessment of $100.

K.I.N.D Officers obtained a search warrant and seized a large quantity of heroin and cocaine from Woods’ residence on Monday, July 9th.

Officers recovered 70 grams of cocaine and approximately 50 grams of heroin along with a large quantity of prescription pills.

There’s no sentencing date scheduled at this time.
