IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - The City of Iron Mountain has been preparing all week for their annual Christmas walk. Community members have been decorating a community Christmas tree and a local businesses have been decorating for a window display contest.
The walk will go through downtown from the library to the First National Bank, with many activities planned along the way including a tree lighting at the end.
"It's really neat to see all the families come together,” Paula Craven, the Program Director with Iron Mountain’s Downtown Development Authority, said. “It's a very family friendly, kid friendly activity. The whole event is. It's just fun to see in the dead of winter families walking around. We also have a live nativity scene on the downtown stage, so that's also kind of neat to see people gather around that."
Ornament decorating and pictures with Santa starts at 3 p.m. in the library.
