Iron Mountain homeless woman gets probation time for breaking into an apartment

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - An Iron Mountain homeless women received probation for breaking into a vacant apartment in Marquette back in December.

Melissa Harvey, 39, pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of malicious destruction of property $200 but less than $1,000. She was originally charged with third degree home invasion. Monday, she received 12 months of probation. She is to pay fines and costs as well.

Harvey and five other homeless suspects were arrested after being accused of breaking into a vacant apartment in the 400 block of W. Washington Street in Marquette December 21. They gained entry into the apartment by breaking a window.
