IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - At Tuesday’s special meeting, the Iron Mountain School Board narrowed down the number of superintendent candidates they will interview.
There were 15 applicants but the board will interview 5.
Interviews for a new superintendent will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in the media room at Iron Mountain High School. It is open to the public.
Mary Brayak, a Search Consultant for the Michigan Association of School Boards, was in attendance tonight leading the board through the process.
"We are feeling very positive. We had a lot of applicants, the board is very pleased. We had an excellent meeting tonight. This board has certainly done their due diligence in following through. We're really excited to see where this leads the district,” said Brayak.
After the interviews, the board will choose two candidates. Those two people will have a final interview on Monday at 5 p.m. This is an open board meeting where stakeholders in the community can voice their opinions.
