Iron Mountain Dentist to offer free dental care to veterans

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A dentist's office in Iron Mountain is offering free dental care to veterans this Veterans Day.

This Saturday at the John Fornetti Dental Office any and all veterans will receive free services.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and between 60 and 70 veterans are expected to show up.

This is the fourth year the practice has held the event and the idea came about after the staff found out only nine percent of veterans have dental benefits.

Dr. John Fornetti says it is the least his practice can do.

"This is something that we just decided, this is something that we want to do," said Fornetti. "This community has been so good to us and this is just one of the ways that we can give back to the community. It does not matter where the veterans live, it just-so long as you're a veteran, come."

Veterans can have whatever procedures they need done including cleanings, fillings and extractions.
