Icy roadways create hazardous travel conditions Wednesday

UPPER PENINSULA, Mich. (WLUC) - Roads and surfaces across central and southern Upper Michigan are covered in ice Wednesday morning.

Many school districts have canceled or delayed classes. Overnight rain froze onto surfaces, causing very dangerous conditions.

Marquette County Central Dispatch is reporting some side roads are impassable due to the ice, specifically roads with hills. The Marquette County Road Commission is getting to them as quickly as they are able. Dispatch also says the highways are in good condition.
