TAHQUAMENON FALLS, Mich. (WLUC) - Three hikers were rescued from Tahquamenon Falls State Park after sliding down an embankment due to ice on the trail.
The three men were hiking a 4-mile long trial between the upper and lower Tahquamenon Falls when they slide down an embankment.
They called 911 and emergency personnel located the men at the bottom of an icy ridge after two hours of searching.
One man was showing signs of hypothermia and struggling to move.
Emergency personnel formed a human chain and used rope to pull the men away from the embankment.
The trail is now closed due to dangerous conditions. The Michigan DNR says that this incident should remind visitors to be prepared for the conditions when visiting state parks.
TV6 & FOX UP will have more details on the rescue and how to stay safe in the state parks on Monday.
