MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Houseplants provide more than interior decoration, research has shown bringing plants into your home has many health benefits. These living organisms interact with your body, mind and home in ways that can enhance quality of life.
From purifying the air to boosting moods and increasing productivity, houseplants provide advantages for both home and office.
Experts claim some plants filter out dust and toxins in the air, as well as provide more oxygen to any environment through the process of photosynthesis.
Not only are houseplants good for your physical health, Andrea Forsberg, owner of Flower Works, conveys their mental health benefits as well.
"It's also for your all over health,” said Forsberg. “Mentally positive because you see green, it makes you feel happy, especially in our long, dark winters."
Air purifying plants include spider plants, peace lilies, ivies, dracena marginatas, Chinese evergreens, and sansevierias.
