UPDATE: High winds cause UPPCO outages in western Marquette County

MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - As of 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, only 50 UPPCO customers remained without power.


High winds and downed trees are causing some power outages in western Marquette County Wednesday morning.

As of 9:15 a.m., UPPCO's online outage map shows a total of 948 customers without power, spread between the Republic and Deer Lake areas. The number was higher than 2,068 at 8:00 a.m.

UPPCO says crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.

Winds in the area Wednesday morning are out of the southeast at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
