NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WLUC) - With the holiday season here, we have some tips on staying healthy and preventing illness from spreading.
Some of the more common ailments you could potentially catch are the flu and the common cold. One of the best ways to avoid catching or spreading these diseases is to wash your hands often. If you're sick you also might want to wait to see your family until you're better.
“Before you head out to visit your family make sure all of your vaccinations are up to date, and especially your flu shot. It's not too late to get your flu shot,” said Lori Marta, Public Health Nurse. “We just started to get a little flu activity in the area, but it doesn't usually peak until later in the season, which might be February.”
Another thing health professionals suggest is to help manage stress as the holidays can be a stressful time of the year for some.
