HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - The city of Hancock held an informational meeting for the public Thursday night on the topic of recreational marijuana.
Hancock is considering opting in to allow recreational marijuana businesses in their municipality. The meeting tonight had a presentation from the city's recreational marijuana committee discussing the pros and cons of opting in.
The city council allowed time for public comment, and has been accepting comments anonymously online.
"Some people, as you probably know, are indifferent. Some people very in support of it, some people are very against it. There's a whole spectrum of opinions, thoughts, and ideas on that," said Hancock’s Mayor, Paul Labine.
The council has not made a decision on opting in yet, however an ordinance can potentially be introduced as early as their next meeting on November 20th.
