HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) - A groundbreaking and celebration of the 2019 Copper Country Habitat for Humanity home build will take place Thursday, September 5 at 6 p.m. on the lot at 800 Champion Street in Houghton.
Habitat for Humanity board members, committee members, and builders will be on hand to celebrate this new beginning with the Kaufman family for whom the home will be built.
Nikki Kaufman, of Houghton, is excited for the opportunity to own her own home with a manageable mortgage resulting from all the volunteer labor and donated materials.
Kaufman will be working alongside volunteers throughout the rest of the buliding season, closing the house in before the snow flies and completing the interior during the winter.
To volunteer, please call 906-482-5376 and leave a message with a return phone number, or send an email to email@example.com.
