NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WLUC) - Pioneer Days continues in Negaunee and Tuesday night the VFW held their annual wine tasting and open house fundraiser. $12 got you three drink tickets to try different kinds of wine and a potluck style dinner.
The post, located on Gold Street, was packed as soon at the event began at 6 Tuesday evening. Organizers say with people back in town for Pioneer Days, it's always a fun event.
"Pioneer Days is basically a week-long party and a lot of people take it off and come home to visit and that's the reason one of our fundraisers is during Pioneer Days and it is a very big fundraiser for our post and we're pretty packed for most of the night," said Post 3165 Commander Bernie Stenaway.
Pioneer Days continues throughout the week culminating Saturday July 13 with a parade downtown, the annual Pioneer Days fireman's Tournament and fireworks display at dusk.
