NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WLUC) - The memory of beloved Negaunee man who went by Goofus is being celebrated with a scholarship and and new event. Goof-Fest will be Saturday, April 27, in downtown Negaunee.

There will be music, provided by the Flat Broke Blues Band, auctions, prizes food and more. Money raised during the event will go into a new scholarship fund for a Negaunee High School student.

"If Goofus thought we were doing it just for him, he'd say no, but since we're doing it to raise money for a scholarship in his memory, that's what he would want, because he was all about giving," said Organizer, Greg Pond.

Special t-shirts have also been made up for the event. Goof-Fest begins at 2 p.m. Saturday with a pre-game lunch at the Negaunee Eagles located at 311 Iron St., Negaunee.
