ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - Escanaba Country Club ordered all golfers to pull their clubs out the closet earlier Friday afternoon for opening day.

Since the weather will be nice this weekend, the country club couldn't wait to open the course to the public.

Many people, including club staff, are excited to get the season going this year.

"We have 30+ outings this year, which is exciting,” exclaimed Jeff Rae, who is the Director of Golf. “We're going to have a really busy year, but between our Thursday fundraisers and all of our outings and tournaments that we have, we're going to have a really busy year and that makes for a really exciting season."

Some of the outings listed will be a new tournament introduced by Rae which is called the two-man rider cup. This will take place on May 11, 2019.

They also will be hosting the Women's UPLGA Championship July 13-16, 2019.
