GLADSTONE, Mich. (WLUC) - Planning is underway for a golf fundraiser to benefit the Tim Kobasic Memorial Fund.
That fundraiser will be held on Aug. 24 at the Terrace Bluffs Golf Club in Gladstone.
The Tim Kobasic Memorial/Scholarship Fund was created following the November death of the involved U.P. resident. Kobasic was best known for his love of the outdoors, his involvement with the radio, and his work as an EMT.
The Kobasic family is hoping to keep his memory and outreach alive.
"We don't want it to end, so this is our beginning steps to be able to give back and keep doing the work that he was already doing. We're just trying to put all our energy into what he had already started," says daughter Carolyn Mokszycke.
All money raised from the scramble will benefit the fund directly, which will be used to support local agencies, clubs, and kids in the community.
The registration fee is $65, which includes a day of golf, food, and a t-shirt. Shotgun start is at 1 p.m.
The roster is fully booked, but there is a waitlist available.
