Germfask man sentenced for breaking and entering incident

MACKINAC COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - A Germfask man involved in a breaking and entering incident was in court Friday for his sentencing.

Christopher Shawn Bryant received 19 months to 10 years in prison on one count of breaking and entering with intent. Back in June, Bryant pleaded no contest to that count and charges of possession of a dangerous weapon and larceny of a building were dropped.

He and Zachary Austin Roll were arrested after patrons at the Shipwreck Bar in Curtis observed them breaking into the Lakeside Grocery and Liquor Store.

Michigan State Troopers were advised witnesses had them detained, but not before one suspect stabbed a witness who was trying to detain him. The victim sought his own treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

The men arrived on scene in a stolen vehicle as well.
