Gas prices decrease 10 cents a gallon in a week

AAA Michigan reports the statewide average daily gas price decreased 10 cents. Michigan’s current daily statewide average is about $2.40 per gallon, about 10 cents less than last week’s average and about 5 cents more than this same time last year.

Upper Michigan has the highest average gas prices at $2.54 a gallon, for the fourth week in a row. AAA reports the lowest average price can be found in the Saginaw-Bay City-Midland area where it’s about $2.30 a gallon.

According to the latest reports from AAA, Michigan ranked, 34th in the nation for most expensive average daily gas price. It's also 4th in the nation for biggest change in weekly average daily gas price (-10 cents).

The national average has dropped. Prices are continuing to slide as drivers begin to settle into fall. Prices are likely to continue declining as demand continues to drop.
