Funeral homes combining in Marquette

The Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home and Fassbender Funeral Home in Marquette are combining under one roof. Both have been run by owner Jeremy Hansen for years and now will be moved into one building, the Swanson-Lundquist location on Third Street.

Renovations are currently underway on that building now. Hansen is leaving the Fassbender site and has sold that to the owners of Stang Family Eyecare.

"My vision overall is to honor those long-standing names that were in this community; they've done a great job serving this community in the most difficult times," said Jeremy Hansen, Owner of Fassbender-Swanson-Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services. "I also want to bring a little bit more of the modern ways to be able to accommodate people and their changing needs in their time of need."

Hansen says he's hopeful most things can be wrapped up by the end of year. Hansen has about 25 years of experience in the business.
