Funds available for mission of expanding access to healthy, natural foods
Northern Initiatives is working with the Michigan Good Food Fund. They’re trying to spread the word that money is available for small businesses, farms, and other groups with the mission of expanding access to healthy and natural foods. The program is also focused on communities of need in low to moderate income areas.
They hope to let people know the funds could really help their business or group.
“There’s an organization out there that has tremendous resources behind it that can bring you a variety of different sources. This is a specific fund that is there to help become more sustainable and help diversify the Michigan economy,” said Chuck Hurst, Vice President of Lending at Northern Initiatives.
The Michigan Good Food Fund is a $30 million public-private partnership. Michigan State University and the Kellogg Foundation are among the partners.
