Free 'Women in Entrepreneurship' event in Marquette Township on Thursday

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - Innovate Marquette SmartZone is hosting a free "Women in Entrepreneurship" panel discussion event this week to help business owners, and others who might be interested, understand and navigate the business world.

Innovate Marquette SmartZone is hosting this panel discussion to help business owners and others interested understand and navigate the business world.

Kylie Bunting, marketing manager with Innovate Marquette SmartZone, says four female entrepreneurs will share their experiences in starting businesses, from the highs to the lows and all the in-betweens. Bunting says it's a great way for people to learn from someone who's been through it before, and it's a way for other business owners to share ideas about what works and what doesn't.

Beth Millner, owner and creator at Beth Millner Jewelry, will be one of the speakers. She says she'll be sharing her story about starting a business from her home and moving to a brick-and-mortar location in downtown Marquette.

The Women in Entrepreneurship panel discussion will be Thursday, Nov. 7 at Barrel + Beam, located at 260 Northwoods Rd. in Marquette Township. A social begins at 6 p.m. and the panel discussion begins at 6:30 p.m.

Attendees 21 and older have the chance to sample beers and Barrel + Beam's new wine. Food from Cafe Bodega will also be served.

The event is free to attend, but it is recommended you RSVP to get a headcount. Bunting says it's expected this event will fill up fast.
