Fourth of July fireworks to go off during Italian Fest

ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) - The Ishpeming Fourth of July Committee is happy to announce the Fourth of July fireworks will be lit at dusk in conjunction with the St. Rocco/St. Anthony Society's Italian Fest.

The fireworks and Italian Fest will take place Saturday, July 27.

The Fourth of July fireworks were canceled this year due to stormy weather, and they couldn’t have them the following day because they didn’t have anyone certified to light them off.

"The crew from the Negaunee fireworks, they stepped up and they decided that they are going to help us out and they are going to be the official people to light them off. So everybody worked together and it will work out just fine,” said Paul Bonetti, Ishpeming Fourth of July Committee Member.

The Ishpeming Fourth Of July Committee is asking for donations for this year’s firework show, as they are battling a $5,000 deficit for the roughly $11,000 show.

You can send checks to the Ishpeming Fourth of July's at P.O. Box 173 in Ishpeming or deliver them to the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce located on 910 US-41 West, Ishpeming, MI 49849. You can also send money to on Paypal for a digital donation.
