Former school teacher enters no contest plea to criminal sexual conduct charges

LUCE COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - A former teacher at Tahqumenon Area Schools entered a plea in Luce County Circuit Court for her criminal sexual conduct charges.

Carrie Ann Miller, 48, pleaded no contest to criminal sexual conduct, assault with intent to perform sexual penetration and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation.

On June 18, Miller was arraigned in Luce County Courts.

The complaint alleges that Miller sexually assaulted a 16 year old student of Tahquamenon Area Schools where she was employed as a teacher. Her charges stemmed from activity alleged to have occurred at the school beginning in January of 2018.

Miller resigned her employment with the school shortly after they placed her on un-paid leave.

A sentencing date is scheduled for January 22.
