Former campaign managers grateful for experience in past election
High school senior Justin Kasieta and college sophomore Jake Putala are two young men who did something out of the ordinary for their age by managing two successful elected officials in the Upper Peninsula.
"It's a wonderful experience to be able a part of something that will help benefit the people of the Upper Peninsula and give us good representation in Lansing,” said Greg Markkanen’s Former Campaign Manager, Justin Kasieta.
"It was an incredible experience, getting to travel across the 12 counties of the 38th district, seeing some new communities, meeting a ton of new people, and just learning about the issues that face each individual county and community,” said Ed McBroom’s Former Campaign Manager, Jake Putala.
During their time working as campaign managers for Ed McBroom and Greg Markkanen, both Kasieta and Putala say this experience has prepared them in so many ways.
"I got to work with a lot of professionals on the campaign team, and really get to understand the work that goes into winning a political campaign,” said Kasieta.
They’re both very proud of all they have accomplished.
"No secret to this campaign besides hard work, and it's really a euphoric feeling seeing the returns on election night and knowing that the U.P. will be represented well,” said Kasieta.
"It was a great feeling because we've been hitting the pavement pretty hard the past 5 months and just to see our work pay off was a tremendous feeling and to be surrounded by other supporters of Ed's,” said Putala.
They do understand the real work starts now, and are excited to see what happens on their busy road ahead.
