MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A trial is set for the former Finlandia football coach accused of aggravated assault.

34-year-old Robert Boss pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated assault domestic violence.

Boss previously worked for Northern Michigan University for eight seasons as a defensive and offensive line coach, academic coordinator, run game coordinator and in 2016 he was named interim head coach.

The charge of Aggravated Assault-Domestic Violence stems from an incident that happened August 2016, while he was still working at NMU.
Boss' bond was set at $5,000, which he posted 10% of and was released.

In November 2017, Boss was named the head football coach at Finlandia University. Boss no longer works for the University as of last Wednesday.

A date is set for October 26th at 8 A.M.
