Flooding in western Gogebic County

NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WLUC) Torrential rain has flooded some roads in western Gogebic County. The sheriff's office reports that the bridge over the Montreal River on Lake Road is flooded. The road is now closed to traffic from near Saxon, Wisconsin to Lower Powers Road.

In addition, the guard rail at Flint Creek Ravine on Lake Road has washed out. Radar estimates show over 5 inches of rain in isolated sections of Gogebic County along Lake Superior southwest into Iron County, Wisconsin.

Rain should continue during the early morning hours. A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 5:00 a.m. CDT.
