First ever Marquette Area Theatre Awards takes the Masonic Center stage Thursday

Four Marquette area theatre organizations are joining forces to support each other and recognize the hard work of the cast and crew members in a first-ever awards show fundraiser Thursday, Feb. 6.

The Marquette Area Theatre Awards will recognize the efforts of actors and behind-the-scenes crew members with the Lake Superior Theatre (LST), Masonic Arts Theatre Fellowship (MATF), Superior Arts Youth Theatre (SAYT), and the Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council (PAAC) throughout 2019's stage productions.

The awards will feature special stage performances by each group, and it will also serve as a fundraiser for each group for future performances.

The public can vote for each award category online

until 11:59 a.m. EST Wednesday.

The Marquette Area Theatre Awards will be at the Masonic Center in downtown Marquette, located at 128 W. Washington St., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 21+ after-party from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, VIP tickets closest to the stage are $35. You can buy tickets ahead of time
