CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - Chocolay Fire Department responded to the scene of a semi trailer fire Thursday morning and put out the fire in a matter of minutes. Currently, they are flushing out any heat left over.
Authorities are unsure of what caused the fire, but it did originate around the right rear tires.
Traffic is being diverted through the beach turnout for at least an hour while they try to get the semi out the way. The semi is hauling concrete.
Also present on the scene were the Marquette County Sheriff's Department, Michigan State Police, and the Chocolay Township Police Department.
This is a developing story and TV6 and FOX UP will have more details as they become available.
