ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - A long line of cars snaked it's way through the U.P. state fairgrounds today as Delta County citizens lined up for a Feeding America food distribution that started at 9am Thursday morning.
Around 15,000 pounds of food made up today's shipment to the Escanaba area which consisted of mostly fresh fresh fruits and vegetables.
Weyerhaeuser Company forest products sponsored today's event in coordination with the Community Foundation for Delta County.
Devin Stockfish is with Weyerhaeuser Company and explained why the company sponsored the food distribution.
"Citizenship is part of the core values of the company so we really view it as a key thing as to how we operate in each community that we're in. To participate and volunteer our time and be part of the community."
