IRON RIVER, Mich. (WLUC) - CoVantage Credit Union in Iron River is helping to give back to the UP Veterans.

Each year, they pick a non-profit organization that they would like to donate to. This year, they chose the American Legion Post in Iron River.

The organization received two weeks to collect donations for their cause. Then, CoVantage Credit Union will match they money they have raised.

On Saturday, they held a fundraising event at the VFW ahead of the Holiday Parade. The money raised will help sponsor Veterans on the UP Honor Flight.

“It’s a great thing, the Veterans themselves, they have given so much to us as Americans, that giving back is highly important, and it’s important that we pass that on with each generation. So, just being able to give back to the honor flight and to the men that served our country so well is just very rewarding in itself," said Stephanie Dye, Event Organizer.

Next Friday, Dec. 13, they’ll be holding an art sale as their next fundraiser. If you’d like to make a donation, checks can be sent to the Iron County CoVantage Credit Union or to the American Legion Post in Iron River.
